2026 CURLY CUP

Reece secured his second trophy of the 2026 Heppy's season with victory in the Curly Cup at Forest Park Golf Club, bringing the curtain down on the final singles event of the year in style. An impressive 19 points on the front nine, followed by a further 20 on the back, saw him post a winning total of 39 points and fend off his ten rivals. Despite two blobs on the card, Reece produced another excellent round when it mattered most.

Forest Park was arguably in the best condition we've seen it in for several years, and with relatively calm weather providing favourable playing conditions, there were plenty of respectable scores across the field.

There was plenty riding on the day for Reece, who arrived as the leader of the Garby Clark standings, with Darren King breathing down his neck in second place. The pressure was firmly on, knowing that a poor round could see his season-long lead slip away at the final hurdle. Incredibly, just a single point separated the two on the day, and had the scores been reversed, Kingy would have walked away with both the Curly Cup and the coveted Garby Clark Trophy.

However, Reece once again demonstrated the consistency that has been the hallmark of his season, holding his nerve to secure not only the Curly Cup but also the prestigious Garby Clark title. A fitting reward for an outstanding year of golf and a thoroughly deserved double triumph. Congratulations, Reece!

2026 LET THE BIG DOG EAT TROPHY

George claimed his first victory at Heppy's since 2023 with an impressively consistent performance, posting 20 points on both the front and back nine to secure the win on countback. A card free of blobs and without a single four-pointer underlines just how solid his golf was from start to finish.

Like many courses at the moment, Brough was extremely dry, and the firm conditions combined with its undulating greens proved a stern test for much of the field. George, however, mastered the precision required, producing an excellent 40-point round to take the honours.

Commiserations go to Elliot Harman, who was agonisingly denied on countback after also finishing on 40 points, while Darren King was just one point further back after a strong round of his own.

2026 CAPTAIN'S STABLEFORD

Congratulations to Jonny Battams for winning the 2026 Captain's Stableford at The Oaks Golf Club on Sunday 21st June.

Jonny wins his first event after securing the Garby Clark last year. He shot a fantastic 43 points on his home course, The Oaks. A strong back 9 of 23 points meant he claimed victory over Jason Greaves who narrowly missed out despite matching the total. Jase managed to shoot a Heppy's record -3 under par, however, this wasn't quite good enough to beat Jonny with +10, unlucky Jase!
